The CO₂ cylinders from SodaTASTE are manufactured according to the European standard ISO 7866 and can therefore be used for all common non-electrical carbonators with a screw system. This differs from so-called “Quick-Connect-Systems” (currently DUO, TERRA, ART & Crystal 3.0 from Sodastream). Unfortunately, due to their different attachment, they cannot use screw cylinders. But we are also working on this so that we will soon be able to offer cylinders that we have developed ourselves, suitable for the Quick Connect system.

Due to the diversity within the world of sparkling water makers, each device reacts slightly differently when being filled. We recommend that you gradually test how quickly your water bubbles the first time you use the cylinder.

The new TÜV-tested cylinders are made in Germany – from production to filling with carbon dioxide. We use biogenic carbon dioxide from a regional bioethanol plant.
If you buy a cylinder, you pay for the cylinder and the CO₂ filling and you don’t have to hand in an empty cylinder. With an exchange cylinder, on the other hand, you can exchange your empty cylinder for a full one in our online shop or an authorized specialist dealer and only pay for the CO₂ filling.

Exchange & Return

We as SodaTASTE GmbH do not charge a deposit on the cylinder (see note on the product). However, you must not throw the empty cylinder in the household waste. You are welcome to send it back to SodaTASTE GmbH and we will take care of the professional disposal.
You can do this at your local SodaTASTE reseller. Take your empty CO2 cylinder with you the next time you go shopping. Trade in your empty cylinder for a filled one. You only pay for the bubbles, not the bottle.

Common Questions

We only use carbon dioxide from bioethanol plants for our SodaTASTE products. We use a climate-neutral starting material from natural agriculture and can thus be even more sustainable and environmentally friendly. You can find more about this topic on our “About us” subpage.
The reason is that our aroma is dissolved in the liquid CO₂. At the end of the filling, however, this has completely passed into your soft drinks. The remainder of the CO₂ is then present in the cylinder in a gaseous state. With this you can still bubble about 5 liters of water. This is a completely normal process and does not constitute a defect in the product.
That depends on your personal taste. The more times you press the carbonation button, the more flavor there is in the water. We recommend you to bubble 3-4 times.
If the water is very cold and the water bottle is not completely filled with water, ice may form when you bubble. This results, among other things, from the fact that the CO₂ cools down considerably when it exits the cylinder, causing the water to freeze for a short time. However, the ice dissolves within a few seconds and is completely harmless.

Yes, that is perfectly normal. As with a good beer, some foam may form in the bottle during bottling. This happens mainly with new cylinders and depending on the local water quality and the type of device used. However, this is not a problem. The foam settles after just a few seconds and is then completely gone. Please do not remove the water bottle from the carbonator until the foam has settled.

The natural flavors we use are vegan and gluten free. Since the ingredients are purely natural, allergy sufferers can also enjoy the contents of our SodaTASTE cylinders without hesitation.
We are constantly developing our products and would like you to be part of it. We will tell you more about this soon.
The natural flavors we use are sugar-free and contain no sweeteners. In addition to diabetics, they are also suitable for allergy sufferers, vegetarians and vegans.
Our cylinders contain liquid CO₂ – this is exactly what is ideal for dissolving natural aromas. And we did. We brought these two ingredients together to create a refreshing fizzy experience with no unnecessary additives.
Depending on the device, you can bubble up to 60 liters of mineral water with our SodaTASTE cylinders. Depending on how often you bubble and how much CO₂ you introduce into the water via the carbonation button, the useful life of a cylinder can vary. We therefore recommend that you already have around 4 SodaTASTE cylinders at home. This means you always have enough cylinders in reserve and can also switch between different flavors.
The cylinder must not be exposed to direct sunlight or stored at temperatures above 50 °C. It should also be kept in a well-ventilated place out of the reach of children.
Our SodaTASTE cylinders were filled under strictly controlled conditions in Germany. Filling by third parties is not permitted, as improper implementation can lead to serious injuries and damage.

There are several ways you can tell if your CO₂ cylinder is empty. First, please make sure that the cylinder is screwed in correctly and, if necessary, tighten it again by turning it to the right. If there is still no carbon dioxide in the water and you don’t hear a hiss when you press the button, the cylinder may be empty.

To check this, you can simply weigh it with a household scale. The weight of a full SodaTASTE cylinder is approx. 1200g. An empty cylinder, on the other hand, only weighs around 760g.
